SARAH SLEAN IN TORONTO: A SNEAK PEEK INTO LAND AND SEA

| August 16, 2011 | Comments (1)

The beautiful Sarah Slean played free again this year at the West Jet Stage at Harbourfront Centre, like she did on Canada Day last year.  It started pouring rain during the opening act, a quartet of classical musicians and settled when Sarah took the stage with a twenty-one piece orchestra.  The orchestra played beautifully alongside Sarah and complimented her music.

It was raining a bit during the day and the warm night turned out to be wonderful and it was nice a change from watching concerts indoors.  It was an ethereal experience, as Sarah sang and the orchestra played softly to her vocals.

Sarah announced her upcoming double album, Land and Sea, to be released sometime in September 2011.  The concert was a stepping ground to test out her new album, as she played mainly new tracks and the orchestra plays a significant role as part of this new album.

Nice photo. The album should be out on September 27th. I posted the set list on my site. Although many of the songs played where not new, it was the first time most where played with an orchestra.

    Shame about the rain.
