LNL: How’s your day so far?

Jeff: Pretty good! Everything has been awesome; got here early and the show was great, didn’t have any problems!

LNL: Are you going to see any shows today?

Jeff: Oh yeah absolutely! First of all I will try to get a shower if I have time (laughs)! I don’t think ill be able to catch As I Lay Dying; I’d like to, but won’t be able to. I will try to catch Anthrax and Opeth, I will catch KISS for sure! KISS is like my all time favorite band. I’m really excited! It’s a dream come true for all of us to play with KISS like when we were growing up there were like God for us.

LNL: Let’s play a little game! Name the first thing that comes to your mind if I say:

“Live”
Jeff: Unpredictable! That’s the first thing that comes in my mind, you don’t know what’s going to happen, anything live is on the go. Before we got on stage we were really worried because things were flying with the wind and you just have to go, go, go find a solution and work in the heat of the moment. Really unpredictable, that’s what it is. But its awesome you know

“Loud”
Jeff:  It’s loud! Metal’s loud! It needs to be loud, it’s not cool if it’s not loud. Like KISS said “If it’s too loud you are too old!”

“Internet”
Jeff: Future, that’s what it is! A lot of people says it’s killing the music industry, that’s probably a good thing as far as the people that run it needs to die a lot of corruption, a lot of bullshit politics! I’m ready for the change, I’m ready for the technology to be the future, and I’m ready to move forward.

“Montreal”
Jeff: Beautiful woman’s that’s what Montreal is! It’s awesome!  Awesome people, awesome everything. We always have a good time here! The people are always really nice, really happy you know! Everyone you run into is smiling and happy! And you got the French thing going on you know that’s really cool you know?

LNL: Do you speak French?

Jeff: Nah I do not but I speak Spanish though!

“Photography”
Jeff: I like bad ass photographs I guess, I like artistic, a lot of technology is killing the artful of photography you know and you don’t have to be a really good photographer anymore you can just put a bunch of filters on and photoshop and make the photos look cool! Photography is important as anything else in art. I’m not a big picture takers you know: all my photos in my iPhone is sucking ass I mean it’s terrible! (Laughs)

LNL: What can we expect from the band for the remaining year?

Jeff: Right now we got this tour, we’re doing two weeks of a headlining run; it’s really cool we’ve never headlines before! We’re going to kind of see where we’re at, we’ll play a longer set, really cool. Then after that were going out with Warbringer in the States and actually we’re coming back in Canada but not in Montreal… We’re coming in Toronto but not Montreal unfortunately. But yeah we will tour with Warbringer  for 5 weeks or so it should be a really killer tour, a lot of fun and that’s pretty much it I think. We’re going overseas in November and December doing some Asian dates and stuff like that. And then hopefully next year, we will work on getting some bigger things and we hope that next year will be a big year for us. Only thing you can do is take it day by day.

LNL: Do you have any advice to give to new bands since there is many local bands here that may help them in the future?

Jeff:  Keep working hard, make sure you are determinate and everybody got to be on the same page. There is so many aspects of making it in a band… I’m still trying to make it in a band so I don’t have the answer you know what I mean… even though I’m signed!  You have to be willing to risk everything and do anything. You’ve got to have good music. You’ve got to play, there’s a saying that says that “you have to play 10 000 hours to be a master at what you do”. That’s what the Beatles did and many other bands have done: you’ve got to have you’re 10 000 hours otherwise you just don’t have the experience under your belt you know? We’ve been playing with this band for six years now and were incredibly tight together the energy that we have together is natural because we play together for so long and it has always been the same group: we never had a member change. And that is important as well! You have to find guys that are welling to stay together and that’s the best advice I can give. And don’t worry about getting signed!

LNL: Thank you for your time!

Jeff: For sure!
